For over 60 years since its founding, Tsuchiya Kaban has continued to make and refine their Randoseru. The Randoseru was created as a sturdy and beautiful bag that Japanese elementary school students could continuously use every day for 6 years. It has been regarded as universal and durable and is now enjoyed by many people regardless of age or nationality.
Made from 150 parts in 300 steps, the Randoseru keeps its beautiful box shape even after many years of use because each side's core is made with a double structure of bonded resin and sponge. For parts like shoulder straps that undergo a lot of strain, Tsuchiya Kaban has developed a processes such as reinforcing machine stitching with hand stitching on top. Tsuchiya Kaban is very conscious of designs that fit the body and achieve comfort while carrying it on the back by evenly distributing the load. In particular, the cushioning on the back is U-shaped to ensure a good fit and prevent heat from building up. It's also waterproof, making it simple to clean. It fits a 13" laptop and metal fittings on each side to attach items such as key chains.
